Yesterday marks a major stride forward in the commitment to uphold law and order in Louisiana. SB 208, the Sanctuary City Ban Bill, has just cleared the Senate, signaling our resolve to protect our citizens and uphold the rule of law amidst the ongoing crisis at our southern border. The border invasion, with over 8 million illegal entries in the past three years, poses a direct challenge to our safety and sovereignty. This legislation is a pivotal step in ensuring Louisiana remains a stronghold of safety, not a sanctuary for lawbreakers. It addresses the very real concern of illegal immigrants committing crimes within our state and ensures cooperation with federal authorities to maintain the security of our communities. We owe it to every Louisianan to maintain our state as a bastion of safety, respecting the rule of law and safeguarding our communities against the repercussions of illegal immigration. I’m proud to lead this charge, emphasizing the need for rigorous enforcement and protection for our citizens. #SB208 #LawAndOrder #SecureTheBorder ... See MoreSee Less

Today marks an important step forward with the introduction of Senate Bill 205, aimed at ensuring our teachers are fairly compensated for their invaluable efforts. SB 205 isn't just a bill; it's a commitment to value the time and effort our educators pour into shaping the future of Louisianaβ€”our children. Let's back our educators and give them the recognition and remuneration#supportourteacherspo#sb205e#educationmattersd#louisianalegislatureianaLegislature

This is Awesome

A stipend is not a raise.

As a former educator, they are under paid and under appreciated. Thanks for helping, Blake

I AGREE WHOLEHEARTEDLY that TEACHERS are WORTH IT!!

Good Morning Blake, how are things going in your battle for more guns on the streets of Louisiana?

πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

How about SB66? Apparently state legislators are ignoring what individual parishes have voted for. Why would the state try to step in and mandate a 5 day school week? That’s right. It affects the free daycare and meals. Anything to keep that important demographic vote right? Hopefully you’re not supporting that when the parish majority has voted to approve it.

Awesome!!!

Met with Mayor Sherbin Collette and several Henderson City Council today to tackle the pressing issue of postal service access. It's critical we address the hardship our elderly face, having to travel to Breaux Bridge just to collect their mail. With Congressman Higgins' office joining us by conference call, we discussed a U.S. Postal Service study due soon. We're united in seeking a swift, effective solution to serve our residents better. So happens to be election day next week what a coincidence!! Perfect timing for a photo shoot!! Got love it !πŸ€”

Postal Service for Henderson makes our parish stronger…great to see leadership and unity on a local, state, and national level.

The real issue. Privatization is a long-standing goal of conservative think tanks and corporations that stand to gain from weakening or dismantling the Postal Service. The administration has also been motivated by the president’s animus toward Amazon, a major Postal Service customer, and a desire to impede voting by mail. While politics and ideology play a role in privatization efforts, the driving force is special interests—large corporations such as United Parcel Service, FedEx, and Pitney Bowes that seek to take advantage of the same network and scale economies as the Postal Service to capture an even larger share of the shipping and mail-processing markets without shouldering the Postal Service’s public service responsibilities. These corporations not only lobby Congress and the Postal Regulatory Commission but also exert an unusual amount of influence through industry advisory groups that operate behind closed doors.

That would be amazing, it’s very inconvenient and would help the town tremendously.

This is an email I received from Higgins office. What has changed now. Clay Higgins 3rd District, Louisiana Congress of the United States. House of Representatives. Washington, DC 20515 Congress of the United States House of Representatives Washington, DC 20515 March 6, 2024 Mr. Dupuis, Thank you for contacting me with your thoughts on the United States Postal Service (USPS). It is good to hear from you on this important topic. In 2006, Congress passed the Postal Accountability and Enhancement Act, which established pre-paid retirement accounts for USPS employees and prohibited the USPS from adding new services. The primary aim of the law was to address the Postal Service’s mounting debt. In 2022, H.R. 3076, the Postal Service Reform Act became law. This new law replaced the existing retirement system for current and retired USPS employees with the Federal Employees Health Benefits (FEHB) program and Medicare. H.R. 3076 also enabled post offices to partner with state, local, and tribal entities to offer certain products (such as hunting and fishing licenses) as long as those entities reimbursed the post office. I recognize that the USPS is a communications lifeline for many Americans and their businesses. I support reasonable measures to help post offices to serve their missions. With that in mind, the Post Office must balance its budget to sustain itself and to avoid further saddling future generations with our debts. I voted against H.R. 3076 in 2022, although it passed the House of Representatives by a margin of 342 to 92. Please be assured that I will keep your comments in mind as Congress continues to address this important issue. Again, I appreciate your thoughts and it is an honor to serve you in Congress. Your suggestions are always welcome, and if ever I may be of assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me at clayhiggins.house.gov/. Respectfully, Clay Higgins Signature. Clay Higgins Member of Congress

Why don’t y’all use the old town hall and save money

There is a Post Office in Cecilia. Henderson residents who also go to the grocery store, either Hebert's or the DG Market which are the only grocery stores in Henderson, are literally 3 to 4 miles from the Post Office in Cecilia. Those Henderson residents who don't grocery shop in Henderson, go to Piggly Wiggly in Cecilia or Wal-mart in Breaux Bridge anyhow for low prices.....you are already there.......

Thank you Blake Miguez for all you do for Henderson and St. Martin ParishπŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‘πŸΌ

Thanks for your Service in Louisiana and this Country!

I'm not sure what they are called? But their like PO BOXES. Put those in a few places around town. The carrier wouldn't have to stop house to house. And residence would have a local mail stop. Many rural areas have them. Or hay, use the old dollar general?

yes.., mailboxes

Higgins is just a used car salesman, he will tell y’all anything! Just to keep y’all on his side

This has been a stuation that the admistration has been working on deligently for some time ..leaning on state n federal officials for help is what u do ..because this adminstration has high standards with them there always ready to help .the best possible resolve will be optained because thats what doers do..who gives a rats ass if an election is luming..

I think the best solution and cheapest would be putting mail boxes.

πŸ‘πŸ‘ˆ

Blake want return your call if you need to talk to him

Thank your PMG for that. Who appointed him again…?

Awesome

You’re a man of your word doing the job as we elected you to do in “Baton Rouge” and not just showing up at functions to be seen!! Remember politicking is over you have a job to fulfill and as I see it it’s getting done.πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

Thanks & yes it's a pain in the rear end to drive way over their just for a stamp.
